On Court: ...5-Star recruit on TennisRecruiting.net who ranked as high as No. 64 in his class nationally...played four years of high school tennis at Valencia HS, reacing the CIF Doubles final as a junior and then winning the prestigious Ojai tournement as a senior, both with teammate Warren Pham...2022-2023...made one of the most auspicious debuts of a Stags Tennis first year player in recent years by winning his first nine singles matches and capturing the ITA D3 West Regionals and the ITA Cup in Rome, GA...as a result, Mareedu earned the No. 1 singles ranking in Division III nationally and in the West, and became an ITA All-American in his first semester of college tennis...he returned in the spring as the Stags No. 1 singles player and shared time at No. 1 doubles with Christian Settles...defeated two Division II players in straight sets at No. 1 in his dual match double-header debut on Feb 11, and then paired with Settles for a doubles win at No. 1...suffered his first two losses in D3 at the ITA D3 National Team Indoors, to Pomona-Pitzer's Hayden Snyder and Case Western's James Hopper, but then lost only three D3 dual matches for the remainder of the season, while avenging losses to both Snyder and eventual NCAA singles champion Rishabh Sharda of Tufts...Mareedu was also 4-0 without the loss of a set against D2 opponents at No. 1 singles...completed 2023 with records of 30-6 in singles and 19-13 in doubles, settling in at No. 3 doubles with roomate and high school partner Warren Pham to win 13 of their final 16 matches as a team...Mareedu's 30-6 singles record is 8th best in program history and equals the debut season of Niko Parodi in 2018...Mareedu was a consensus SCIAC Athlete of the Year and SCIAC Newcomer of the Year selection in addition to his 1st Team All-SCIAC distinction and earning the HMC Athlete of the Year...he also earned the ITA Rookie of the Year award at the national level and in West, while finishing 2023 with singles rankings of No. 1 in the West and No. 6 nationally.
