CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team last faced Whitworth in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, and after putting up a tough fight early, the game got away from the Stags late. The opposite happened this time around, as CMS dug down after a slow start and was able to challenge the Pirates late, before settling for a 31-15 defeat at Zinda Field.
CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team trailed 10-7 at the half, but turned the game around after intermission, outscoring the Pioneers 27-0 to earn a 34-10 win in its home opener on Saturday afternoon at Zinda Field.
CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team resumed action on Saturday after a long hiatus, and showed the same formula for success that earned it the 2018 SCIAC title, defeating Pomona-Pitzer 25-3 behind a dominant ball-control effort on offense, and a stout performance on defense on Saturday evening at Merritt Field.
CLAREMONT, Calif. - The last time the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team was in action, it defeated Pomona-Pitzer in the 2019 season finale to win the Sixth Street Trophy. Its first game in almost two years will also come against Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, as the Stags cross the street to open the 2021 campaign on Saturday at 7 p.m.
