CLAREMONT, Calif. - A total of 11 members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Women's Tennis team earned Scholar-Athlete honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, while the Athenas also collectively added an All-Academic Team award.
CLAREMONT, Calif. - By 2019, CMS Women’s Tennis program had a lot of achievements in its history, including a team national championship a year before, but one thing that had eluded the Athenas was an NCAA Doubles Championship. When the championship match took place in the 2019 tournament at Kalamazoo, though, there wasn’t much doubt that it would happen, since the finals featured a CMS vs. CMS battle.
CLAREMONT, Calif. - The CMS Women's Tennis team was looking to make history on its home courts in 2018 at the NCAA Championships, which were held at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center. A 5-0 win over MIT in quarterfinals put the Athenas through to the semis, and they finished off their goal by defeating Williams and Emory, the sport's two most dominant programs, to win the title.
CLAREMONT, Calif. - The 2011 CMS Women's Tennis program shared the SCIAC title with Pomona-Pitzer, but won the key rubber match in the NCAA Regional Finals, establishing dominance in the rivalry which the Athenas have maintained ever since. Kristin Lim then went on to win the NCAA Division III Singles Championship at nationals, which CMS hosted at its new Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
