
Mareedu, Robinson, Schilling, Settles Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Distinction
CLAREMONT, Calif. - Advik Mareedu, Matthew Robinson, Morgan Schilling and Christian Settles of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete distinction for the 2022-23 academic year.
In addition to the four individual winners, the Stags collectively earned ITA All-Academic Team distinction for having a team GPA over a 3.2.
Mareedu, Robinson and Settles all added their ITA Scholar-Athlete honors to their All-America distinction. Mareedu earned it in singles, while Robinson and Settles captured it in doubles. Mareedu was also named the ITA Division III Rookie of the Year after tallying a 30-6 singles record, including winning the ITA Cup in the fall.
CMS advanced to the NCAA Division III Semifinals before a narrow 5-4 loss to Tufts, finishing the year with a 22-5 record. The Stags also went undefeated in the SCIAC for the 16th straight season, extending their winning streak in league-sponsored matches to 153 in a row (145 regular season, eight postseason tournament).
