Mareedu (Singles), Robinson/Settles (Doubles) Earn All-America Honors for CMS Men's Tennis

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Advik Mareedu earned All-America honors in singles, while Matthew Robinson and Christian Settles captured All-America honors in doubles from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the organization announced this week.

All three players wrapped up All-America distinction in the fall by winning the ITA West Region championships. Mareedu went on to earn the ITA Cup singles titles, while Robinson and Settles advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles.

Mareedu also earned numerous postseason accolades, including the ITA National Rookie of the Year, following a season in which he won 30 singles matches, finishing 30-6. He advanced to the Round of 16 in the NCAA singles championship, after helping CMS reach the NCAA Semifinals, where he won in both singles and doubles in a tight 5-4 defeat to Tufts. He finished the year ranked No. 6 in the country in singles as well.

Robinson and Settles, meanwhile, ended the year ranked No. 12 in doubles after combining for a 20-5 record, including 13-4 in dual matches playing at No. 1 for the Stags. They finished the year on a 10-match win streak, including 6-0 in the postseason (2-0 in SCIAC, 4-0 in the NCAA), closing out with wins over the No. 5 (WashU) and No. 2 (Tufts) ranked doubles teams in the country.

Settles also picked up doubles All-America honors for the second straight season at two different programs, after also earning that distinction while playing at Trinity (Texas) last season, before playing his fifth year at CMS while attending Claremont Graduate University.

CMS finished the season with a 22-5 record, including 17 wins in a row before the Tufts loss in the NCAA Semifinals.
