CLAREMONT, Calif. - The CMS Women's Lacrosse program had already achieved quite a bit in its seven seasons before the SCIAC began sponsoring the sport in 2010, but the addition of a league title gave the Athenas even more incentive and the responded with a 10-0 record and their fourth straight NCAA bid.

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The CMS Women's Lacrosse program had its first varsity season in 2003 and quickly established itself as a strong program with a combined 29-13 record in its first three seasons. The 2007 team, though, broke new ground by starting out the year 15-0 and earning an NCAA bid, the first in the program's young history.

CLAREMONT, Calif. - After upgrading from club to varsity in 2003, the CMS women’s lacrosse program quickly showed that the program had some serious promise. Despite a loss, the Athenas’ debut game showed that CMS was going to be a factor in the sport for years to come, taking Bates, a long-established NESCAC program which had been around since the 1970s, into double overtime before falling 10-9, before going on to a 10-3 season.

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The CMS women's lacrosse team held a 35-game conference win streak when neighboring Pomona-Pitzer came to visit for the 2019 SCIAC finals. The two teams played a tight game for the first 20 minutes, as the Athenas held a narrow 4-3 lead, but then, as they were prone to do in that era, CMS kicked it into another gear, scoring 11 goals in a row for a 15-3 win.

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The CMS Women's Lacrosse Class of 2021 accomplished as much in two seasons as many student-athletes hope to do in four. They helped the Athenas sweep two straight SCIAC regular season and postseason championships and earned back-to-back NCAA Division III Tournament bids in their first two years.

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The eight members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse senior class were 3-for-3 winning SCIAC titles in their first three seasons, compiling a 41-1 league record over their careers. Their chance at a fourth straight league title and trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament was denied by the sudden suspension of spring sports, as well as the chance for a normal Senior Day tribute at the final regular season home game, so we decided to pay tribute to the CMS Women's Lacrosse Class of 2020 via video instead.
