CHICAGO, Ill. - Grace Minturn had four goals, and Catherine Murphy added three, but the Chicago women's lacrosse team was able to take control of the game early and capture a 21-12 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a non-conference game on Sunday morning.

The Maroons scored the first four goals before CMS was able to break the ice with back-to-back goals from Murphy and Paige Morgan. Chicago closed out the first with three straight goals, and then stretched it to a 6-0 with the first three goals of the second to get the lead to 10-2.

Minturn and Julia Ryan scored consecutive goals to close the gap to 10-4, and the Minturn and Taylor Daetz scored two straight to make it a 13-7 contest, but Chicago scored the final goal of the half to take a 14-7 lead into the break, and then stretched it to 21-8 in the third.
