On Court: 4-star recruit on TR.net who ranked in the top 50 nationally and top 5 in Texas in the 12s, 14s, and 16s...won 16s Texas Sectionals Doubles and reached quarters of 16s doubles at Kalamazoo...played #1 singles for his high school team St. Stephen's all four years...as a freshman was one of six first year players on the Stags Tennis roster..made debut at ITA West Regionals in October where he won three of five matches in singles and one of three matches in doubles with partner Daniel Park...appeared in six singles dual matches in the spring at No. 3-5, posting a 4-2 record...three of his six singles matches were decided by match tie-breaks, with Berber winning one of the three...made his greatest impact in doubles, becoming a fixture in the starting lineup after contributing to a big win against Middlebury at No. 3 doubles with Alex Brenner in front of family and friends on his home courts in Austin, TX...settled in with senor captain Glenn Hull at No. 2 doubles for the remainder of the season and post-season, going 12-5 in 17 doubles duals with Hull, including three wins during the NCAA team event...completes his first year as a Stag with overall records of 7-4 in singles and 17-11 in doubles...as a sophomore returned with a strong fall showing at the ITA West Regionals, capturing the doubles title with Niko Parodi over teammates Oscar Burney and Julian Gordy...entered tournament as 7th seeded team and won five matches to advance to the ITA Oracle Cup in Rome, GA and earn ITA All-American honors...lost three close matches at the Oracle Cup to finish the fall with a 5-3 record and earn fall rankings of #8 nationally and #2 in the West...in singles entered ITA West Regionals as #9 seed and was 2-2 in four matches...appeared in eight singles dual matches in the spring, playing at the No. 4-6 positions and not dropping a set...toughest outing was a 6-4, 7-6(6) win at No. 5 singles in the Stags opening match against Arizona Christian on February 10...featured prominently in the re-birth of Stags doubles in 2018, starting in 16 dual matches with four different partners...his only three doubles losses were to Emory, Bowdoin, and Williams, finishing with a 13-3 dual match record...overall records were 10-2 in singles and 18-6 in doubles...as a junior spent fall semester abroad in Auckland, New Zealand...returned to action in the spring to appear in four different dual matches, including the Stags' home opener on February 23...lost at No. 4 singles against Hope International, but then won his next three matches partnering Jake Williams at No. 3 doubles against Christopher Newport, Western New Mexico, and Whittier...made important contributions during the Stags' post-season run serving as player-coach...finishes 2019 with overall records of 0-1 in singles and 3-0 in doubles...one of eight Stags to earn better than a 3.5 GPA and garner ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
