SPOKANE, Wash. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team got off to a strong start and stayed with No. 11 Whitworth throughout the first half, but the Pirates broke several big plays in the second half and captured a 48-6 win over the Stags in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
CMS Football Embarks on First NCAA Road Trip in Program History

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The team buses came to pick up the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team this morning in front of Roberts Pavilion. The procedure was the same as any other road trip, the bags of equipment and athletic training supplies loaded underneath, the players filing in early and finding their seats, the coaches the last to board before the doors close and the buses pull out (right on time, of course).

That tradition takes a bit of a hiatus this year, since CMS will continue on into the NCAA Tournament, but the Stags still want to get their hands back on the Sixth Street Trophy.
