    CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team faced Redlands on Saturday at Zinda Field in a battle between the two teams that tied for first in the SCIAC last year, with CMS earning the automatic bid due to its 20-10 win over Redlands, but this time the Bulldogs were able to come out on top with a 45-6 win on Saturday afternoon.

    CLAREMONT, Calif. -- The CMS Football team won the 2018 SCIAC Championship finishing with a 6-1 conference record and a 7-4 overall record to earn the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and opens play on Sept. 7 against Puget Sound. The Stags have a tough stretch of games to open play with four of the first five games on the road to begin the 2019 campaign as they head to Northwestern (Minn.) on Sept. 14 and then return home to face Pacific Lutheran on Sept. 21.

The procedure was the same as any other road trip, the bags of equipment and athletic training supplies loaded underneath, the players filing in early and finding their seats, the coaches the last to board before the doors close and the buses pull out (right on time, of course).
