CLAREMONT, Calif. - Quarterback Brenden Brown is one of nine seniors on the CMS football team who got to celebrate their Senior Day by winning the program's first SCIAC title in 31 years last Saturday, while also becoming the winningest class in the history of the program (25 so far).

The shortest road trip of Brown's career as a student-athlete will come tomorrow, when he and the Stags walk the 1,500 or so feet to Merritt Field to take on Pomona-Pitzer in the Sixth Street Trophy game, hoping to cap off an undefeated season in SCIAC play. The longest road trip of his career as a student-athlete was for vastly different reasons, as he traveled to Switzerland in the summer of 2017 to present some of his research as an aspring bio-medical engineer.

As one of the "tough ol' Mudders" on the Stags this season, Brown has balanced being a quarterback with a rigorous academic workload as an engineering major at Harvey Mudd, where he has been a Dean's List student throughout his four years. His research on the tissue engineering of corneas at Harvey Mudd under Professor Elizabeth Orwin (through the Engman Research Fellowship) gave him the opportunity to present his work at the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society Conference, which was held in Davos, Switzerland last summer.
