WESTWOOD, Calif. - Elle Marsyla finished in first place in the 10000 meters, earning a time of 35:48.29 to move into fifth in CMS history, to highlight some changes in the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field record books at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival, hosted by UCLA on Friday.

Marsyla was joined in the 10000 meters by Sara Wexler, who also cracked the top 10, as she ended up with a 37:10.48 to move into ninth place in CMS history.

Laura Zimmer took over three seconds off of her PR in the 1500 meters to move up from seventh to fourth at CMS with a time of 4:31.34. Riley Capuano, meanwhile, ran a 4:34.71, knocking just over one second off of her fastest time to move up one spot to eighth place at CMS.

The Athenas also sent several throwers to compete at the Mangrum Invitational, hosted by CSU San Marcos. Antonia Hekster was the champion in the hammer throw with a top distance of 153'2", winning by almost six inches over Shona Christensen of Cal Poly Pomona. Katelyn Sewell came in third place in the discus with a throw of 128'6", just off of her PR of 129'11", which places 10th at CMS.

The Athenas will be back in action next weekend when they host the second SCIAC Multi-Dual on Saturday at the Burns Track Complex, beginning at 10 a.m.
