After a season of setbacks stemming from COVID and injuries, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas basketball team was ready to turn the tide in 2022-23. And they delivered indeed. Coming out of the gate with 7 non-conference wins, CMS collected a strong 12-4 record in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference bringing home a second-place finish and a berth in the post-season tournament.

REDLANDS, Calif. – Ariana Dalia went over 1000 career points, set a new career high with 39 points, and had 17 in the fourth quarter alone, but the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s basketball team came up just short as it dropped a 79-75 decision to Redlands in the SCIAC Semifinals on Thursday night at Currier Gymnasium.

PASADENA, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s basketball team trailed for most of regulation, but Renee Chong hit the tying basket with 12 seconds left and then hit the go-ahead bucket with 1:08 left in overtime, as the Athenas were able to gut out an important 58-52 road win over Caltech on Saturday afternoon at the Braun Athletic Center.
