Was born in Orange, Califonia … Daughter to Clarence and Linnea Bates … Has one sibling, Joshua...Mother ran track and field in college for CSULB …  Spent the summer (2019) on a cruise in the Bahamas to celebrate her grandmother's 65th birthday ... Spent the previous summer at an internship in an industrial dairy lab ... Involved in the Black Womyn's Collective at the Claremont Colleges ... Most Thrilling Sports Moment was defeating Lompoc ("right after I lost my point guard to a concussion, who was our leading scorer and offensive catalyst, for CIF semifinals my junior high") … Biggest sport hero is Matthew Delladova ("because he isn’t incredibly skilled but he is really scrappy and comes up with defensive plays by doing the dirty work no one else wants to") … Favorite hobbies outside of basketball are exploring parks or shorelines and writing poetry … Lists Biochemistry as her favorite course that she has taken in college so far ("I learned a lot about metabolomics, which is one my interests outside of food digestion.") ... Doing a senior project focusing on the business aspects of healthcare in Africa ... Choose CMS because "I felt most at-home on this campus, and appreciated the opportunities for summer research and internships."
