Bio
My name is Kyril van Schendel and I am a Sophomore at CMC. Originally I am from Brooklyn, New York, although frankly I consider myself a Californian. On the team I am regarded by coach as 'Commie' for my soviet roots, and as the guy with the crazy 300m JV kick at the end of every race. As a freshman I ran a best of 25:23 in the 8K, 4:01 in the 1500, and 15:01 in the 5k. Though these times mark a significant improvement from my high school running days, I am confident that this year I will see even bigger jumps in my running. At CMC my interests lie in the subjects of Psychology, Biology, and Economics. My current inquiry question is how can we as people increase our cognitive and physical performance while striving for longevity? Around campus you can find me riding around on a tandem bike, and rocking some 5 finger vibram shoes, I would highly recommend that you grab yourself a pair.
