Bio

Justin Helfer enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's and women's cross country teams in 2023-24. 

Helfer joins the CMS program with strong local ties, after serving for three seasons as the head cross country coach at Western Christian High School in nearby Upland, California. 

Before beginning his coaching career, Helfer competed as a cross country runner at Ayala High School, where he finished seventh in the league championships as a senior.

A native of Chino Hills, Helfer graduated from California State University at Fullerton in 2020 with a degree in kinesiology.
