If you want to know where Russell’s from, look at his socks. The CMC senior is renowned for both his red-and-yellow socks bearing the sun symbol of the Zia and his history as lead singer in a punk rock band. In his former life he rocked out on rooftops; in his old age he is settling down as Web Editor for the Portside. But his heart is forever aflame with love for his cacti-studded, sun-scoured homeland: Albuquerque. Russell attended Albuquerque High School and is now majoring in History and Government. Though he spent a summer mentoring children of American servicemen stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, he speaks no German. Russell speaks one language alone: the language of the desert.
Pregame Rituals: Listening to Punk Rock, Warming Up, Stretching.
Favorite Athlete: Georgi Dinolov.
Favorite Activities outside XC/T&F: Web Editor for Claremont Port Side, Punk Rock singer and guitarist.
