Brooklyn Button is a first-year student at Claremont McKenna College who is planning to pursue the 3/2 economics-engineering program.
Though originally Canadian, Brooklyn grew up in Iowa and the Netherlands, before transferring to Sage Hill School in Southern California for her senior year.
Her parents are Karla and Darryl Button. She has an older brother, Lukas, who attends UCLA, and a younger sister, Lily, who attends Sage Hill School, and a Dutch white-golden retriever named Harley.
Brooklyn holds the Sage Hill school record in the cross country 3 mile race (17:46), and the 3200m race (11:18). She has served as cross country and track team captain in both the Netherlands and in California.
Outside of running, Brooklyn enjoys spending time with friends/family, public speaking, golfing, and singing, as well as autumn, strawberries, hair bows, and the color olive green.
