CMS Women's Water Polo Cruises Past Oxy for Sixth Straight Win

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Mia Adsen and Cooper McKenna scored three goals as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's water polo team had no trouble with Occidental, capturing a 16-3 win on Wednesday evening at Axelrood Pool.

Dara Schoolcraft and Isabel Del Villar each had two goals for CMS, while 10 different players scored in all, as Elise Power, Olivia Cairns, Christina Kulick, Grace Clark, Cassandra Ruedy and Caitlin Muñoz each had goals as well.

With the win, CMS moves to 10-7 on the season and 5-0 in the SCIAC while earning its sixth win a row since a loss to No. 2 USC at the Claremont Convergence. Occidental falls to 0-4 in SCIAC play with the loss.

Six different players accounted for the first six CMS goals before Adsen became the first two-goal scorer for the Athenas with 2:49 left in the half, making it 7-1. Adsen added her third goal in the third quarter, McKenna had back-to-back goals in the fourth quarter to get her hat trick.

CMS will be back in action on Saturday for a pair of home games, taking on Concordia at 10 a.m. and Brown at 4 p.m.
