Buenconsejo, Holman Named First-Team All-SCIAC, Tocher Honored on Second Team

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior Rhiann Holman and sophomore Gracyn Buenconsejo earned spots on the All-SCIAC First Team, while senior Sarah Tocher captured second-team honors for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team in a vote of the league's coaches, the SCIAC announced today.

Holman earned her way onto the All-SCIAC first team for the third year in a row, while Buenconsejo and Tocher each captured their first all-league accolades of their careers.

Holman led CMS in scoring for the third straight season, finishing the year with eight goals and seven assists for 23 points, matching her career high in points which she set last season. She finished her collegiate career with 25 goals and 14 assists for 64 points, including seven game-winners. She had the game's only goal in wins over Pacific Lutheran and Cal Lutheran this season and also had her second career hat trick in a win at Caltech.

Buenconsejo had a big year for CMS stepping into the starting line-up after the Athenas lost their entire starting back four from a year ago. Her efforts helped the Athenas to a stingy 0.51 goals against average on the season, and only 64 shots on target over the course of 17 games (less than four per contest). CMS had nine shutouts over its 17 games, and allowed more than one goal only one time all year.

Tocher had a key role for CMS as a target forward and tied Holman for the team lead in assists with seven this season. She assisted on both CMS goals in a key 2-1 win over Chapman on Oct. 12, and added two more on her Senior Day in a win over Caltech. She also added a goal in a SCIAC win over Whittier on Oct. 5.

CMS finished the season with a 10-4-3 record, improving its winning percentage for the third year in a row and reaching the 10-win mark for the seventh time this decade.
