Bio

Delaney Benson enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team in 2023-24. 

Benson joins the Athenas after serving as an assistant coach at The College of Wooster in Ohio during the 2023 season. Her responsibilites included game strategy and scouting reports, leading recruitment at five club team events, and managing the program's social media content.  

In addition to her experience with The College of Wooster, Benson has also served for two years as a program director for the Israel Lacrosse Association in Ashkelon, Israel, where she recruited and coached Israeli youth players. 

Benson has also played with the Israel Women's National Team, earning the Spirit of Lacrosse Award at the 2022 Women’s World Lacrosse Championships in Towson, Maryland. She played at the collegiate level at Division II Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where she scored 48 goals in her career in 40 games, including five in just two games as a senior in 2020 before the season was cut short due to the pandemic.

Benson graduated from Fort Lewis with a bachelor of science degree in exercise physiology, and a minor in Spanish. She also joins CMS with Southern California roots, having attended Carlsbad High School in the San Diego area, where she played lacrosse.
