CMS Women’s Lacrosse Picks Up Two Wins Over Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team finished off a suspended game with Cal Lutheran from March 23 with a 19-1 win, and then captured a 23-2 win in a second contest on Monday evening.

With the two wins, CMS now stands at 10-4 overall and 8-2 in the SCIAC with two games remaining.

Catherine Murphy led the Athenas in the full game with four goals and three assists for seven points, while Amelia Ulmer had a team-high five goals. Murphy also led CMS with three ground balls. 

Hannah Conte (3 goals, 2 assists) and Jessica Sloan-Cooper (3 goals, 1 assist) also had hat tricks for CMS, which held a 34-5 advantage in shots.  

CMS held an 11-0 lead in the suspended game from March 23, which resumed in the opening minute of the second quarter, and the Athenas finished it off with a 19-1 victory. Cate Lewison and Grace Minturn each had four goals, while Murphy, Conte and Sheridan Dorsey had two goals apiece. Minturn added a team-best three ground balls to the defensive effort. 

CMS will be back in action on Wednesday night at home for its regular season home finale against Chapman at 7 p.m. at Zinda Field.
