Bella Lynch Takes SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors after Opening Week

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Sophomore Bella Lynch of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team earned the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week Award for games through Sunday, March 5, the league office announced today.

Lynch had identical lines of three goals and five assists in both games as CMS opened the season 2-0 with SCIAC wins over Whittier and Occidental. She had three goals and two assists in the first half against Occidental, and helped break the Whittier game open, which was 11-5 at the half, with a goal and three assists in a 6-1 third quarter.

As a first-year in 2022, Lynch tallied 36 goals and 21 assists, ranking third on the Athenas with 57 points while helping the team reach the NCAA Tournament. Her five assists this week surpassed her high of four last season, which she accomplished against Cal Lutheran.

CMS will be back in action for a big road game against Pomona-Pitzer on Thursday, with early-season SCIAC bragging rights on the line with both teams undefeated coming in.
