Alex Futterman Selected to IWLCA Division III Senior All-Star Game

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior midfielder Alex Futterman earned a selection to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III All-Star Game, the organization announced today.

Futterman finished the 2022 season with 55 goals to lead the Athenas, which ranks as the ninth-highest single-season total in CMS history. She also added 25 assists for 80 points, which also ranks ninth all-time at CMS, and she crossed the 100-goal mark in her career with 105 to rank tenth in program history, despite losing one entire season and most of a second due to the pandemic.

As one of the team's senior leaders, Futterman helped CMS to a 14-6 final record and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Athenas defeated George Fox 22-6 in the opening round, marking the program's first NCAA win since the 2011 season.

For her efforts, Futterman earned first-team All-SCIAC honors, and was a first-team All-West Region selection from the IWLCA. She was also a first-team All-SCIAC selection in 2019 in her first collegiate season, before the middle two seasons were interrupted.

The IWLCA Senior All-Star games for Divisions I, II and III will be held on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Sunday, June 5, 2022. The Division III teams will play the first game at 11:00 am EDT, the Division I game will follow at 12:45 pm, and the Division II teams will cap off the event with their game at 2:30 pm. Admission for all three games is free of charge.
