Alex Futterman Earns Second SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honor of 2022 Season

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Alex Futterman captured the SCIAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honor for games through Sunday, April 17, the league office announced today.

Futterman had a big week offensively as CMS took a pair of home wins. She scored half of the CMS goals, matching her career high with seven, as the Athenas took a narrow 14-11 win over Chapman on Wednesday in a battle for second place in the league standings.

She followed that up with a career-high 11 points on six goals and five assists as CMS broke open a close game (16-12 late in the third) for a 25-13 win over Occidental on Saturday. She scored her 13 goals on the week on only 17 shots, putting 16 of them on net.

Futterman previously earned the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor on March 7, after a week in which the Athenas defeated Redlands and Occidental. McKenna Likins has also earned the Defensive Player of the Week award for CMS this season on March 14.

CMS will be back in action on Wednesday night for a road game at Redlands, and will next be at home on April 30 for the regular season finale against Whittier, which will be Senior Day for Futterman and the Class of 2022.
