Corie Hack Named SCIAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
CLAREMONT, Calif - After reaching a major personal milestone and helping her team to an undefeated regular season in SCIAC, senior Corie Hack was named the SCIAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for games through April 21, the league office announced today.
Hack scored the 200th goal of her career, making her only the third player in Athena history to reach that milestone, as CMS defeated both second-place teams in the SCIAC (Occidental and Pomona-Pitzer) to finish the regular season 10-0 in league play. CMS extended its win streak against league teams to 34, dating back to the 2016 SCIAC Semifinals, while finishing 10-0 in the regular season for the third year in a row.
For the week, Hack tallied 12 goals and two assists, producing identical six-goal, one-assist efforts in both wins. She had a hat trick in each half of a 16-8 win over Occidental on Wednesday, and then had five of her six goals in the first half of a 15-4 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.
Hack's third goal (pictured - photo by Daniel Addison) against Pomona-Pitzer was the 200th of her four-year career. She finished the game with 203 goals, tying her for second all-time in CMS history with Sarah Dick (the school record of 251 is held by Madi Shove). She now has 240 career points (203 goals, 37 assists),
CMS will have home field advantage throughout the SCIAC playoffs, taking on Chapman in the semifinals at Zinda Field on Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m., and if it advances, it will then host the finals on Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m.
