Athenas Score Academic Team and Individual Honors From IWLCA
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse players Lauren Clubb (CMC '18 - Major: Biochemistry), Kendall Greenberg (CMC '18 - Major: Economics), Corie Hack (CMC '19 - Major: Science Management and Biotechnology), and Nicole Greenberg (SC '19 - Major: Politics) have been selected to the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll for the 2017-18 academic year. In addition, the Athenas as a team posted over a 3.0 grade-point average and were selected as an IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
To highlight our two graduated seniors who were selected to the Academic Honor Roll, we have listed some of their career highlights below:
Clubb started 17 matches for the Athenas in 2018 as one of the team captains. She finished third on the team with 16 assists, and she scored 17 goals. She played in 60 games during her career and holds the record for assists with 72. For her senior thesis she studied the characteristic central and peripheral expression of interleukin 6 during fear memory re-consolidation in a mouse model of PTSD. Clubb now lives in Washington D.C. where she works for the National Institutes of Health and is studying immune cell activation for possible development of cancer therapeutics.
Kendall Greenberg played in eight matches this season, and is a four-year member of the Athenas. She is a Robert Day Scholar and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon with a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in finance. For her senior thesis she studied the history of activist investing and identified the most influential factors that lead to short and long-term value creation for activist interventions. Kendall now lives in New York City and works as a risk analyst at Deutsche Bank.
