CMS Women's Golf Finishes Third at UC Santa Cruz Invitational
PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team finished third out of 10 teams at the UC Santa Cruz Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Pacific Grove Golf Links.
CMS finished with a two-round 612, finishing seven shots behind Redlands, which took the team title by three strokes with a +29. The Athenas were just ahead of George Fox in fourth at +41 and Texas-Dallas in fifth at +48.
Stella Cheng was the highest individual finished for CMS at +5, finishing one shot behind Alison Takiyama of George Fox, who earned individual medalist honors. Esther Lee had a top-10 finish in seventh at +7, while Irene Jun had the low round of the day for CMS with a 76.
The Athenas will be back in action in two weeks for the SCIAC Championships, which will be held at Olivas Links in Ventura on April 23-25.
