CMS Women's Golf Battles Biola to One-Shot Defeat in Dual

GLENDORA, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team played Biola in a fall dual match on Friday and fell by just one stroke at the Glendora Country Club.

Irene Jun was the individual winner, shooting a 73 (+1) on her round to win by two strokes over Madison Voisard of Biola. Jun had a 72 and a 74 earlier this week at the California State Intercollegiate to come in a tie for ninth, as she has begun the 2022-23 season in steady fashion.

Esther Lee finished in a tie for fourth with a 78, one shot ahead of three of her teammates, as Stella Cheng, Lauren Fue and Jeissy Lee all earned 79s on the day. Jeissy Lee's round included a chip-in from 15 yards on the sixth hole.

CMS will be back in action next weekend when it hosts the Claremont Challenge on Saturday and Sunday at San Dimas Country Club. The Athenas will then finish off their fall schedule on Friday, Sept. 30, with another dual match against Whittier.
