BEAUMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team finished in third place at the 2022 SCIAC Championships, led by a runner-up finish from Irene Jun, who finished one shot back from individual medalist honors in her first career postseason competition.

CMS shot a 305 on Sunday to finish with a 927 over the three rounds. Pomona-Pitzer edged Redlands by four shots for the team title (910 to 914), while the Athenas finished a comfortable 25 shots ahead of Cal Lutheran in fourth.

Abby Euyang of Pomona-Pitzer edged out Jun and Katelyn Vo of Pomona-Pitzer by one shot on the individual leaderboard. Jun had back-to-back birdies on the 12th and 13th to momentarily grab the lead for herself, but Euyang birdied 14 and 16 to take the lead back for good.

Senior Tiffany Hu came through with a top-10 finish in her final SCIAC event, earning a tie for sixth place with a 231. She moved up one spot from seventh to sixth after her final-round 77.

Stella Cheng had an outstanding final round for the Athenas, shooting an even-par 72 which was the lowest round in the field on Tuesday. Cheng birdied the 15th and 17th holes to complete a final-day surge which lifted her eight spots into 13th place.

CMS had won the last three SCIAC women's golf championships that were held (2017-19), going on to win the national championship in 2018.
