
CMS Women's Golf Finishes 12th at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team ended up 12th out of 24 teams at the three-day Jekyll Island Invitational after concluding the 54-hole tournament with a 312 on Sunday.
Emory dominated the competition to take the team championship at +2, a 29-shot win over Redlands at +31 in second place. CMS finished 310-302-312 for a 924 over the three rounds.
Stella Cheng was the top individual finisher for CMS, ending in a tie for 17th place out of 120 golfers in the field at +8 over the three rounds after concluding with a 75 (+3) on Sunday. Cheng closed out with two birdies on her final five holes, including one on her final hole (No. 9).
Jeissy Lee also earned a top-30 finish by coming in a tie for 28th at +11. She had back-to-back birdies on holes No. 1 and No. 2 (her 10th and 11th holes of the day after starting on the back nine), and added another on the par-3 sixth.
CMS will be back in action next weekend at the Redlands Bulldog Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at The S Course in Rancho Mirage.
