Stella Cheng Ranked No. 1 in Division III by GolfStat after Fall Season

CLAREMONT, Calif. - At the conclusion of the fall portion of the schedule, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps first-year women's golfer Stella Cheng holds down the No. 1 spot in the country in GolfStat's Division III rankings.

Cheng has an adjusted scoring average of 71.54 and has an 8-0 record against other golfers in the top 25 of the GolfStat rankings, as well as a 21-0 record against the top 100. 

Cheng was the individual medalist at the Redlands Fall Shootout to help CMS to the team championship, finishing with a -5 over her two rounds, including a -3 on the second day to win the title by two strokes. 

Irene Jun (seventh) and Hiuying (Erin) Li (18th) are also highly ranked after the fall season for the Athenas, placing in the top 20. 

CMS will be back in action for the spring schedule in February, resuming competition with SCIAC #1 at Olivas Links in Ventura on Feb. 26.
