GolfStat Scoring

SAN DIMAS, Calif. - Irene Jun shot a one-over 73 as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team concluded the fall portion of its 2021-22 schedule with a dual win over La Verne on Sunday at Via Verde Country Club in San Dimas.

After a tough opening tournament at the California State Intercollegiate, the Athenas bounced back to win their final three events, capturing the Redlands Fall Invitational by a single stroke last weekend, and then defeating both Chapman and La Verne in duals this weekend.

Jun had three birdies on her round, including one on the 18th to finish with a 73. Reina Tain and Grace Lu, who also both had birdies on 18, each shot a 76 for the Athenas to tie for second, while Lauren Fue had a 77 to be the fourth CMS scorer, giving the Athenas a team score of 302.

Elena Anderson had a strong round playing as an individual, coming in with a 78 for the fifth-highest score of the day, while Stella Cheng, who had a 68 yesterday in a close dual against Chapman and was the individual medalist at the Redlands Invitational when the Athenas won by one stroke, finished with a 79 on a day her team won comfortably.

CMS will be back in action in the spring, when it competes in the first SCIAC regular season tournament on Feb. 26-27 at Olivas Links in Ventura.
