CMS Women's Golf in Fourth After Day One of Cal State Intercollegiate

VENTURA, Calif. - The CMS women's golf team stands in fourth place after the first round of the California State Intercollegiate Tournament at the Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura.

CMS shot 303 on the day (+15), leaving the Athenas 18 shots off the pace set by George Fox, which finished in the red on opening day at -3. Pomona-Pitzer is in second place at -2, while Redlands is in third at +5. 

Individually, Tiffany Hu holds the highest spot on the leaderboard for the Athenas in 10th place, shooting a 73 (+1) in her first round since the pandemic cut the 2020 season short in March. Lauren Fue and Reina Tain are also in the top 20 at +4 after the opening round, good for a share of 17th.

Abby Euyang of Pomona-Pitzer leads the way at -5, with teammate Katelyn Vo in second at -3. All four scorers for George Fox finished with par or better. 

The second and final round gets underway tomorrow morning as CMS will try to move up the leaderboard and challenge for a comeback win.
