Four CMS Women's Golfers Earn Spots on WGCA All-American Scholar Team

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior Kelly Ransom, sophomore Emily Attiyeh and first-years Tiffany Hu and Amy Xue were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar team, the organization announced today.

A total of 1,097 women's golfers across all three divisions were chosen for the prestigious honor, which requires a mininum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA and participating in at least 50 percent of the rounds that the team played over the course of the season. CMS and Redlands tied for the most honorees in the SCIAC with four apiece. 

All four CMS winners were part of the six-member team that captured the SCIAC Championship in May, the program's third in a row. Xue was the individual champion as well, rallying from eight shots behind in the final round to win by one stroke, and earned honorable mention All-America honors from the WGCA. Xue and Ransom were also both first-team All-SCIAC selections, the fourth year in a row that Ransom earned All-SCIAC honors, while Attiyeh and Hu were both chosen to the second team.

The CMS women's golf team ended the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships in fourth place after coming up just short in its bid to repeat as national champions, following the program's first-ever NCAA Division III title in 2018.
