Athena golf team finishes ninth at Birdies for Breast Cancer Tournament

The women's golf team completed their fall season competition with a ninth place finish at the Birdies for Breast Cancer Tournament at the par 72 Oak Quarry Golf Course in Riverside on Monday and Tuesday.  The team shot rounds of 318, 332 and 335 for a 54-hole total of 985.  UC Riverside, the host school for the event, won the tournament with a score of 880.

Tiffany Su was the top finisher for CMS tieing for 33rd overall with a score of 238.  Lindsay Slocum was 43rd with a score of 244, Marissa Suehiro tied for 44 at 245 and Taylor Kain-Godey tied for 56th at 264.  Maya Reddy shot a 79 in the first round, but had to withdraw from the remainder of the tournament with a bad back.  Freshman Libby Ramsey competed as an individual in the tournament and finished 52nd with a score of 255.

The Athenas will begin competition in their spring season on February 10.  They will compete in the SCIAC Preview event at Glendora Country Club.
