Women's Golf Opens Season With Strong Outing
The women's golf team finished in second place at the Embry-Riddle Invitational with a three round score of 966, a solid team effort from the five players in each of the 3 rounds. A strong debut was turned in by rookie Caroline Belmont who shot: 80, 81,and 87. Sophomore Marissa Suehiro fired off an 83 coming back with a 77 and an 80 for the final round. Junior Maya Reddy came back from an 80 and 84 with a two over par 74 in the final round. Junior Jackie Ketner shot 80, 90, and finished with a solid 81. Scripps sophomore Shaina Raskin tied the team together with an 80, 88 and final day score of 81. With a strong finish at the first tournament of the fall the Athenas are looking forward to competing in San Luis Obispo next weekend.
