Seven Stags Earn All-America Honors from College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America announced its NCAA Division III All-America teams this morning, and seven members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's swimming and diving team were honored.

Due to the cancellation of the NCAA Division III Championships in March, the CSCAA bestowed All-America disinction to all athletes who qualified for the nationals but did not get to compete. The list of Stags honored include first-year Anderson Breazeale (200 back, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 400 free relay), junior Marco Conati (100 fly, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 400 free relay), senior Kendall Hollimon (1-meter dive, 3-meter dive), sophomore Walter Limm (400 medley relay), first-year Nathan Luis (400 free relay), junior Andreas Roeseler (200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 400 free relay) and senior Sam Willett (200 medley relay).

Hollimon picked up his fifth and sixth All-America honors in his stellar career (four times on the three-meter, two times on the one-meter). He had earned three top-five finishes in the three-meter in his first three seasons, including a close third-place finish a year ago, and was hoping to contend for the national championship before the event was canceled. Hollimon was an eight-time SCIAC Champion, sweeping both boards in all four of his competitions.

Conati also repeated as an All-American after earning a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships a year ago to earn All-America honors. Conati had the ninth-fastest time in Division III this season in the 100 fly, and was hoping to repeat his performance of a year ago when he significantly improved on his seed time to finish in fourth place.

Breazeale tied Conati to lead the Stags with four All-America honors in four different events, including an individual qualification in the 200 back, where he placed No. 13 in the nation with a time of 1:47.51.  Breazeale joined Conati as part of three qualifying relay teams for the Stags, including the backstroke in the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard medley relay, as well as in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Roeseler also captured All-America honors in all three relays, where he was going to be the anchor swimmer in the freestyle in all three. Willett earned All-America honors for the first time in his career in the 200 medley (where he was going to swim the breaststroke leg), while Limm and Luis earned it for the 400 medley relay and Luis captured it for the 400-yard freestyle relay.

As a team, CMS captured the SCIAC Championship for the first time since 2017, edging Pomona-Pitzer in a close battle by 14 points.
