CMS Men's Swimming and Diving Moves up Six Spots in Latest National Poll

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's swimming and diving team moved up six places in the latest national Division III poll released today by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches of America, the organization announced today.

The Stags were ranked No. 19 in the preseason poll, but vaulted up six places to No. 13 after its first two dual meets, a road defeat to Division II power UC San Diego, and a road win over SCIAC rival Caltech in its conference opener, when the Stags won 15 of the 16 events.

CMS ended last season with two All-Americans in current senior diver Kendall Hollimon, the third-place finisher at the NCAA Championships in the three-meter dive, and current junior Marco Conati, who finished fourth nationally in the 100 fly. Both have gotten off to strong starts this season as well, and have gotten some strong support from their younger classmates, including first-year Anderson Breazeale, who was the SCIAC Swimmer of the Week after sweeping the 200 free and the 200 back against Caltech.

CMS will return to action this weekend for its first home event of the 2019-20 season, when it hosts Chapman and Cal Lutheran in a SCIAC tri-meet at Axelrood Pool, beginning with the diving events at 10 a.m.
