Poltash tabbed as SCIAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com
SOMERS, Wisc. – CollegeSwimming.com announced its TeamUnify / CollegeSwimming.com Division III National Swimmers-of-the-Week for performances Jan. 25-31 and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps senior swimmer Alex Poltash (CMC) is the SCIAC Men's Swimmer of the Week.
Poltash, in the last home meet of his CMS career, helped the Stags take down La Verne 188-43 on Jan. 30. In the meet, he swam in three winning events (50 free, 100 free and 200 free relay). He swam the opening leg on the 200 free relay team which set an Axelrood Pool record with a time of 1:24.71. The previous record of 1:24.98 had stood since Jan. 25, 2014.
Next on the schedule for CMS is a meet at Pomona-Pitzer on Feb. 6. Diving begins at 11 a.m. and swim events start after that.
