Bio

Alec Spencer enters his third season as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team in 2023-24, after helping the Stags to a pair of SCIAC titles and NCAA third-place finishes in his first two campaigns.

In his first season in 2021-22, Spencer helped CMS to a dominant conference championship, winning all three league events by a combined margin of over 30 strokes, and to its second-highest finish in its NCAA Tournament history, when it finished in third place. The Stags had five first-team All-SCIAC selections, and three players chosen to the GCAA All-America teams. The Stags then duplicated those two finishes in 2023, winning the league title and taking third at nationals after making a big run from behind to take the lead on the final day.

As a collegiate player at the University of La Verne, Spencer finished with four All-SCIAC honors (three first-team and one second-team), and won the 2013 SCIAC Newcomer of the Year. He earned All-American and Academic All-American Honors in 2017 as a top player in all of NCAA Division III that season.

A native of San Diego, Spencer is a commercial real estate broker at Intersection CRE, a firm based in San Diego with offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City. Spencer has been in the commercial real estate industry since 2017 and continues his passion in competitive golf playing in Amateur/Mid-Amateur tournaments.
