Chiu, Jiang, Kwon, Ma Earn Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Honors
CLAREMONT, Calif. - Adrian Chiu, Kevin Jiang, Joshua Kwon and Yuefeng (Michael) Ma earned Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America for their academic and athletic performances this season.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
The four Stags who earned the honor helped CMS earn an NCAA Division III bid this season, where the Stags finished 13th overall.
Ma was also the individual medalist at the SCIAC Championships for the second time in his career, earning SCIAC Athlete of the Year honors. Chiu joined Ma in earning spots on the GCAA All-Region team and All-SCIAC first team, while Kwon was selected the second team. Jiang, meanwhile, was an All-West Region and All-SCIAC selection in 2023.
A total of 208 NCAA Division III athletes from 81 schools earned 2023-24 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors, with only eight schools earning five or more.
