CMS Men's Golf Wins Dual With La Verne by Eight Shots

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team defeated La Verne by eight strokes (293-301) in a dual which was held on Friday at Via Verde Golf Club in San Dimas.

Yuefeng (Michael) Ma led the way for the Stags with a 70, tying La Verne's Patrick Lagura for the low round of the day. 

Adrian Chiu shot a 73 to place fourth, one stroke behind Jason Bustos of La Verne. Joshua Kwon had a 74 and Jamison Tan finsihed with a 76, matching Manuel Huerta of La Verne. 

Aryan Kaila was just behind the four Stag scorers with a 77, but the Leopards had a big dropoff after Huerta's 76, with Shreyat Kumaresh and Thomas Aung carding 83s for the fourth La Verne score. 

CMS will be back in action on Oct. 9-10 at the TMU Danish Classic, which will be held at the Alisal Ranch Golf Course in Solvang, California.
