Kevin Jiang Earns SCIAC Top Golfer of the Week Honor

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Sophomore Kevin Jiang captured the SCIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week for events through Sunday, March 19, the conference office announced today.

Jiang earned a top-10 finish at the Jekyll Island Invitational (tied for seventh at -4) to help the Stags finish sixth out of 30 teams. Jiang had a pair of bogey-free rounds, shooting a 69 (-3) with three birdies and 15 pars on his first round on Friday, and then doing it again on Sunday for another 69.

Jiang joins two-time winner Vikram Chatterjee on the list of SCIAC weekly award winners for the Stags this season. CMS has actually won the honor after all three events it has participated in during the spring season. 

CMS will be back in two weeks for SCIAC No. 2 at Mountain Meadows Golf Club in Pomona, where it will try to win its fifth straight SCIAC tournament, including all three last year and the only one that was contested in 2020 before the pandemic.
