Former CMS Men's Golfer Drew Oetting (CMC '12) Starts Operation Masks for COVID-19 Relief Efforts
CLAREMONT, Calif. - Former CMS men's golfer Drew Oetting (CMC '12) has taken a lead role in creating an organization called Operation Masks, which has produced over one million N95 masks to front-line workers in the fight against COVID-19.
In March, Oetting pulled together a team of venture capitalists and people with deep contacts in the Chinese manufacturing sector to create Operation Masks, which procures millions of masks while charging nothing for its services. The success of their efforts were profiled in The Wall Street Journal on March 28.
Oetting was part of a CMS men's golf team that ranked No. 15 in the nation his junior season in 2011. He was classmates with Tain Lee, who won the individual national title at the NCAA Division III Championship in 2010 and finished second in 2011. In 2012, the Stags finished fourth as a team at the NCAA Championships.
