Six Stags Rank in top 50 in First GolfStat Individual Rankings

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Six members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team placed in the top 50 of the first NCAA Division III individual rankings produced by GolfStat, the website released today.

Seniors Austin Long and Harrison Brenner lead the way for CMS, which is currently ranked No. 9 in Division III by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Long places 12th nationally, with Brenner right behind in 13th place.

Also neck-and-neck are first-year Edward Wu and junior Ken Kong, who are also both in the top 20. Wu places 17th, with Kong right behind him in 18th place.

First-year Vikram Chatterjee currently places 24th after a strong start to his first collegiate campaign, while fellow first-year Adrian Chiu breaks into the top top 50 at No. 49.

CMS earned the high rankings after a dominant performance from all six golfers at the three-round Redlands Bulldog Invitational on Sept. 21-22. All six shot under par in Sunday's final round and led the Stags to a 21 stroke victory at -17.

The Stags will be back in action next week, when they travel to Prescott, Arizona to participate in the Embry-Riddle Co-Ed Invitational.
