Stags Finish Fourth at Kingsmen Invitational

Stags Finish Fourth at Kingsmen Invitational

The CMS golf team made their annual trip up to La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc, California to take part in the Kingsmen Invitational hosted by Cal Lutheran.  The course, already the 33th most difficult in the nation, played even tougher with windy conditions and longer than usual rough.  CMS fired a combined three day score of 981 putting them behind top finishers Cal Lutheran, Whitworth, and Berry College.

Tain Lee (JR, San Juan Capistrano [pictured]) was the runaway winner in the event posting a 221 total, 13 strokes lower than the second place finisher.  This is the third time in as many years that Lee has emerged victorious in the event.  Jordan Stein (Fr, Glencoe, IL) finished in 18th place with a 241.  Michael Liu (JR, Tustin), Aron Larson (FR, Wayzata, MN), and Bou-An Fujieki (FR, Honolulu HI) rounded out the Stags with scores of 253, 265, and 271.

The Stags play next on April 5 at Brookside Golf Course.  The fourth of the SCIAC 18 hole tournaments is being hosted by Occidental College.
