Angle, Kenyon Earn All-District Honors from NABC

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior guard Josh Angle earned first-team All-District 10 honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and senior guard Brian Kenyon captured a spot on the second-team, the organization announced today.

Angle was one of the top scorers and three-point shooters in Division III this season, averaging 21.5 points per game to rank 19th in the country, and shooting 45.0 percent from three-point territory, ranking eighth. He scored at least 14 points in every game, and extended his streak of double-figure games to 49 over the last two seasons. Angle went over 1000 points late in the year, finishing with 1100, despite only having 91 points after his sophomore year, which included a freshman season coming off the bench and a sophomore year lost to the pandemic. He also made a statement on opening day with 37 points in a win over No. 2 Mary Hardin-Baylor.

In addition to his NABC honor, Angle was also chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team on Tuesday as well, in addition to earning the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year honor from the College Sports Communications (CSC).

Kenyon was lost to an injury late in the season, but finished as the nation's leader in assist-to-turnover ratio at 5.6-to-1 (146 assists, 26 turnovers). His 7.0 assists per game average ranked him fifth in Division III as well, and he had a triple-double against Pomona-Pitzer with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists (and just two turnovers). He had four 10-assist games this season in all, including 12 against Haverford and Whittier and 10 against La Verne in addition to the Pomona-Pitzer contest, and had just one turnover in each of those three games.

Angle and Kenyon formed the starting backcourt of a team that went 21-5 and was ranked in the national top 25 for most of the season. The Stags also finished second in the SCIAC at 13-3.
