Miles President, Jeremy Horn Named Second-Team All-SCIAC for CMS Men's Basketball

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Seniors Miles President and Jeremy Horn both earned spots on the All-SCIAC second team in a vote of the league's coaches, the conference office announced this afternoon.

President earns second-team All-SCIAC honors for the second season in a row, while Horn was honored on the postseason all-league teams for the first time in his career.

A four-year starter who played a key role on back-to-back SCIAC Championship teams in 2017 and 2018, President currently averages 10.9 points per game for the Stags heading into this weekend's conference tournament. He is knocking down 42.5 percent of his three-pointers, while also shooting 82.7 percent from the free throw line. In his final home game against Redlands, he became only the 20th player in program history to score 1,000 points and how stands at 1,021, heading into a rematch with Redlands tomorrow in the SCIAC Semifinals.

Horn ended the regular season as the team leader in scoring at 11.4 points per game, as well as leading the team in rebounding at 5.8 boards per contest, despite playing 18 minutes a night in the CMS two-headed center rotation with fellow center George Walker. He is shooting 54.7 percent from the floor on the season, which is tied for seventh in the SCIAC, and had a career-high 28 points in a win over Gustavus Adolphus.

CMS heads into the SCIAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed, facing Redlands on Friday night at 7 p.m. in one of two semifinals. Pomona-Pitzer hosts Occidental in the other semifinal, and the two winners will meet on Saturday night for the SCIAC Championship and the right to represent the league in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
