Scarlett Earns Pair of All-American Honors, Including First Team from D3Hoops

D3Hoops.com All-American Release  |  NABC All-American Release

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Over the weekend, Michael Scarlett (CMC) added to his list of postseason accolades with a First Team All-American honor by D3Hoops.com. The accolade comes on the heels of a Third Team All-American nod by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) just last week. Earlier this month, Scarlett was named First Team All-District by the NABC and First Team All-Region by D3Hoops.com.

Scarlett's successful senior campaign has been well documented throughout the season. The guard led the Stags with 19.7 points per game this season while shooting 48.3 percent from the field and posting a 42.0 percent from beyond the arc. In addition to his scoring prowess, Scarlett grabbed 3.8 rebounds per game and dished out 2.5 assists per contest.

The All-American honor from the NABC is Scarlett's second-straight after he was named Second Team after his junior season. He was named Honorable Mention All-American by D3Hoops.com last season and was named a Third Team Preseason All-American prior to this season.

Scarlett helped lead the Stags to the NCAA Tournament after winning their 20th SCIAC Championship and claiming their sixth SCIAC Tournament Championship with an 86-62 victory over the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens in the SCIAC Championship.

In 22 games Scarlett played this season, the Stags went 19-3 and the bearded guard scored double-digits in every game he played. Scarlett went for season-high 32 points against Pomona-Pitzer on Feb. 7 when he went 13-22 from the floor including a 5-8 mark from downtown.

Scarlett wraps up his career as a two-time SCIAC Player of the Year, a two-time First Team All-District player, and now a two-time All-American.
